Happy Family Day!

We are so lucky here in Alberta that today is a holiday! The only other places in the country that have holidays today are Saskatchewan and Ontario. Unfortunately, those that work for the federal government (like Canada Post) have to work today. It was first observed in Alberta in 1990, and was brought in by then Premier Don Getty. My Dad was an MLA (Member of the Legislative Assembly) and a Cabinet Minister at the time here in Alberta. Premier Getty was criticized quite a bit at the time, which you can read about HERE, and so employers can make the choice to observe this holiday or the civic holiday in August. I'm very lucky, because at my job, we get both!

Anyway, I have completed a card today to participate in two challenges. One is for High Hopes Challenge #18, which is to make a project themed for Easter or Spring, and the other is Jen's Sketch for You to Try (SFYTT) on her blog I {heart} 2 stamp. I just found the High Hopes Blog this week, and am excited about participating in many more challenges! Jen del Muro does amazing work, so be sure to check out her blog.

Here's my card. It took quite a while to make, but I really wanted to make the flowers pop!

Here's a picture to show how the card looks from the side, because the main picture just doesn't really show it!
